2.4 CPU removed and replaced= fail?? 900

will pulling the CPU ECU BRAIN BOX
with the battery hooked up kill the unit??

I fixed the 940's problem but had the spare [future] turbo box in the car
to test if the CPU was the problem
and as it ran but poorly as expected with a turbo brain in a N/A car
wanted to switch back to the normal N/A cpu after getting the car to run again
but forgot to disconnect the battery eathor on removing the turbo box or replaceing the N/A unit

did I fry the brain box?? as now both do not send fuel injection pulses
car does still spark and fault codes are stored inc the no fuel pulse

will a replacement chip [aftermarket] fix the unit??
replacement chips are talked about on turbo bricks [but site is currently down for repair]
