How do I know if my car has EGR? Headpipe Qs. 200

Ok- being somewhat "exhaust stupid", I have a few questions. I need to buy new headpipes for both my '88 and the '92 (Murphy's law of Volvos- if it goes on one it'll go on the other in two weeks). How do I know which pipe will fit the '92? Whats the difference in the pipe w/ EGR and without (aside from cost)? How do I know if the car even has EGR? Also, what is meant by the term "spin flange". How is the spin flange different than the normal headpipe-cat union?

TIA as always.
