Brendan,
This diagram was the basic guide for my set up. I'm pretty sure Paul Malloy did it. If not, then my apologies to who did.
Anyway, I just eliminated the sugar cube and put in a "momentary" switch in its place, in my case a push button on top of my shifter knob. And the fan housing ground only needs to be a good ground.
I used the top fuse in the box for power.
