When is it enough? 200

My Volvo shop foreman told me maybe I should give up on my 88 245. In the past year I have spent over $6000. I've had the following items fixed:

Kickdown cable
Transmission rear seal
Rear pads 1 caliper brake lines and parking brake shoes and hardware.
Coil
Engine mounts
Wheel bearing front.
Water pump fan and clutch
Front pipe.

I need within a year:
Control arm bushings
Oil pan gasket
Transmission mounts

and maybe 2 years front springs struts and strut bearings.

This came after I had my fan come off after being replaced 3 weeks ago at the dealership. It looks like the nuts came off this time. The studs were not sheared off.

Is it time to give up. Keeping inmind other than emmisions testing and parts the car has cost very little in the previous 4 years. I can't decide I love the car but the foreman said this in front of my wife who now seems to agree with him.
