I am having weird issues with my volvo, 1989 240 volvo 5-sp, but the symptoms are consistent, so I think someone on this board can help. I have been having strange cutout problems for about a month now, but it finally got bad enough that it killed the car at a stop today. After it died, it started right back up but it was idling high and the check engine light came on. Now it runs normal, but the high idle comes in and out (1200 rpm), but the shift up button will flash at me, right before another quick cutout. The cutout only seems to last for a moment then the car is fine, it only kills the engine at a stopsign or light.

What is this?
