TYRES WIDTH ????? 444-544

Lots of options here. But if you are sticking with the original wheels 185/sr/15 wheels (VW 'Beetle' sized tires) are about as wide as you'd want to put on them.

If you are swapping wheels then it's more complicated. the offset of the wheels along with the bulkiness of the tires (width and aspect ratio) all go into determining if they will rub.

On my PV I have 15X6 A.R.E. wheels with 3 3/8ths back spacing and 205/50/15 tires. No rubbing, other than the tire hitting the sway bar in the front on full lock. That rarely happens at any speed other than creeping into a parking spot, and the sway bar is smooth and won't hurt the tire, so I've not bothered to do anything about it. If I was worried, I could adjust the lock stops on each front kingpin carrier and reduce the steering angle slightly.
