USAF 544s? 444-544

Hope some of you might delve into your memory banks and put a story to a moderately interesting sight. Saw today a chalky white late 544 with a large 60's era USAF sticker on each door, and a splattering of other air base stickers on the chrome bits.

The overall old appearance of the car and it's livery made me wonder if these weren't common sights on air bases in those days.

In any case it was a Volvo nexus that very moment: my '74 142 in traffic outside of a Volvo shop in Sacramento, I'm craning to see the '65 122 in the bay, when I hear a singer sewing B18 and see this thing.

I guess in spite of it's noise and beaming admiration, my car didn't raise the attention of the driver.

So it goes. Cheers, -Sean
