V90 noise from cylinder head(?) 900

Already posted this on the S-V90 forum,but I need help!Just in time for Christmas our '98 V90 (125K) has started making an intermittent whining noise.Sounds like a pulley bearing-comes and goes with revving the engine,goes away completely sometimes.Only thing is,it SEEMS to be coming from the head!Center top of engine.Noise is gone right now.I will try a stethoscope /screwdriver trick later to see if I can localize it. I hope it's just a serpentine belt pulley.Arrggghh!I didn;t want this on the Friday before Christmas weekend!Wish me luck!
