Hissing after engine shutoff S90-V90

My wife's '92 960 has developed a vacuum leak that i can't find. It's related to the cruise control system, because cruise does not work now. I think it is the unit that mounts on the fender wall or possibly the brake booster. Probably not the booster because the brakes seem fine but the noise is in that general vixinity. I am very familar with Volvo 240s but not so much this car (even though I put the engine in it). I have never seen this vacuum motor or whatever it is on another Volvo. I have traced the cruise vacuum line to this unit and all lines appear to be intact. How does this thing work (or fail)? Anybody got any ideas? Thanks and happy holidays!
