Details on sudden engine cut-out & mysterious restart 900

Well I just took the 95 940 T out for a short drive and experienced firsthand the sudden engine cut out. (it had just been my wife driving it before).

The engine simply stopped dead, after having been run 4 miles and was fully warmed up and running perfectly. There was no sputtering or slowing down... just dead off.

But then when I went to try and restart it, I'd turn the key but nothing happened at all. The starter motor would not turn over and also the gearshift would not come out of park.

BUT after about 1 minute, for some mysterious reason it then started perfectly fine.

I don't understand why it would NOT restart at first... and would not even connect to the starter, but after 1 minute the car started normally.
Is there some charging of the coil issue or some other 'timing' electrical issue going on here? Do relays need a minute to 'reset' themselves?

Does this odd behavior seem to whittle down the field of culprits any?

a) faulty Radio Supression Relay?
b) Fuel Pump Relay?
c) ignition amplifier module?
d) RPM/Crank Sensor?

Thanks for any ideas... I'm now afraid to drive the car anywhere, seeing as dying suddenly in traffic could be dangerous. Thanks for any insights... as always.
