Update 200 1987

Yesterday I gave this another go, but there was no way I could get the rod from the passenger door to fit. It was simply a bit too long. It was only one way the motor could fit on the bracket, and only one way to mount the bracket on the door, so there was not much room for creative manipulation. I found Dave Shannon's measure pretty accurate, I needed a 6.5" long rod just like he says.

On the bright side, the rod I took from a rear door lock was quite easy to bend into the correct shape in the bench vice. So everything is now in place and is working fine. I have pulled the wiring through the door and into the car, now "all" I have to work out is how to wire the keyless controller into the central locking. Hm. Trust me to be back!

Again thanks,
Erling.
