Volvo 240 Brake lights <--- HELP for future frake light failure

I lost the brake lights on my 1986 244, and could not find the problem. (Fortunately they came back later).

While they were out, I used the rear fog lights to warn following drivers.

On the 1986, the rear fogs come on when the fog light switch is on and the headlights are on low beam. So - fog lights and head lights on all the time. When hitting the brakes I switched the headlights to low beam.

I the 1989 the fog lights are on if the headlights are on any beam. So you would have to switch the fog lights on and off another way. Headlight switch or the fog light switch.

Worked for me.

But - glad you found just the fuse. Those little rascals are sneaky.

Regards,

Bob
