Batteries Redux 200

Last month there was discussion about WalMart EverStarts being made by Johnson Control...and to avoid batteries made by Exide

Just a follow-up note on batteries. I went to get one at WalMart...the EverStart batteries they had were all made by Exide. The Group 48 batteries all had the bottom lips shortened on all four sides so that they would not meet the standard hold down points on the front (headlight side) of my 87 battery tray. (I currently have a Group 48 battery in the car and it fits perfectly.)

The Book for EverStart, hanging on the rack had a Group 47 my year Volvo... it was a smaller battery with less "power"...$5 cheaper...but the bottom lips ran all the way on all 4 sides so it would meet all the hold down points in the tray. Go figure.

PS I was in Sears for a tool and asked about a battery...I said I need a Group 48...you need a Foreign Car Diehard At $119 a pop...only thing we have that fits them thar'Volvos.
