Road noise

A lot of things can contribite to road noise, and wagons are worse than sedans.
Does your car still have the cover under the engine, the cover over the spare?

If you suspect seals on doors, windows or sunroof, just tape over them and see if the noise gets better.

I have seen posts by people who have added soundproofing to make improvements. Be careful where you add stuff, for instance, the doors and other areas can take on quite a bit of water in the car wash and the drains need to work well.

An 850 is a LOT quieter, I now do not think that 740s were well insulated from road noise to begin with.
