960 engine swap tricks and shortcuts? 900 1996

Hi all,
I'm looking for some hints and mostly motivation to swap the engine in my 1995 960. I have a 65K engine from a 97 that even has a new timing belt installed. I have a Volvo green manual for the swap too. The book says to swap trans and engine together. Is there a logical reason for this? I have swapped many RWD engines and leaving the trans in place is almost always the best deal. Are there any other tricks I need to know? I recall something about swapping some engine controls or sensors from the dead 95 to the 97, but do not remember exactly. I'm hoping to take advantage of the warm Michigan weather this week to get it finished quickly.
thanks for any help,
Palmer
