Thermostat Question - Overheat 200

Fan clutch failing and thermostat replacement can be coincidental.

Thermostats usually fail in wide open position.

What temp thermostat did you remove?

How far above normal does your gauge get?

Just a little => no problem but check the clutch.

A lot => set the cabin heater on full hot and fan on #4 and watch the gauge. Drop then => cooling capacity is low, fan clutch again, suspected due to age.
Could alo be a clogged radiator. The tubes acoss the bottom clog first.

Has the coolant been replaced recently?

Post back with progress, makes this site work better.

Good Luck,

Bob
