That Micro Switch that will not let me shift out of park S90-V90 1998

That doesn't sound right... I just had a problem with my brake light switch, and it's above the shift lock switch. My brake lights didn't work at all most of the time, but I could still shift out of park. Even when I looked on VADIS it showed two seperate switches on the bracket. Maybe it changed on the 1998 model, and the 1997 (like mine) is different?
