Back on the road again 120-130

Thank you for the encouragement. We are going to have the hood painted to match the body color. The car deserves respect for surviving such a long time in great shape. It looks like she is going to get a brand new nose piece too. The body shop doesn't want any chance of rust coming back to ruin the repair work.

The car next to the 122 in the driveway is a 1989 BMW 325iX - another great car for winter fun. We just picked it up a few months ago and haven't yet had a chance to try it out in the snow.

The B18D engine is a good balance of power and economy for me. Too much power and it becomes too easy to drive with execess aggression. I'd rather relax and enjoy the 75 mile commute. When we want to have a little fun with power, there are a couple of other cars in the garage:

300 Hp 6 sp Avanti

220 Hp 5 sp Euro 635

I have often admired the efficiency of european engines. Perhaps that is why only one of our cars is American!

May good fortune follow your racing adventures. The Volvo Amazon certainly seems to be popular in the long distance rally events. I commute in the 122 approximately 25,000 miles a year. Mine has never left me stranded in almost three years.

Take care,

Joe M in WV
