Spark Knock? - New (almost) B230F 200

Just had a 53,000 mile 92 B230F installed in my 91 240. Long story laced with stupidity on the part of yours truly and a flagrant foul for illegal use of a hand drill.......

Anyway, we are getting spark knock under heavy load - when accelerating between 40 and 50 when the engine is warm, or when going up a steep hill at most any speed.

The knock sensor is fine. Tried a new one, no difference. Timing has been checked twice by the installer. Plugs are the four-tip Bosch, and seem fine. I am on my third tank of gas with a bottle of fuel treatment in each.

The thing rins great, doesn't miss at all, just get a light "clatter" that is not valves under the conditions I outlined. Oh yes, we put a new fuel rail on too - another long story.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. You guys are always a great source of info.

Dave
91 240 - or is it a 92 now?
