Cleaning 960 MAF 900

I isolated the cause of the cold start sputter on the 960. It is the MAF sensor. A volvo mechanic said that my K&N air filter often fouls the MAF wire sensor by getting the K&N oil on the wire.

He said I should disassemble the air intake, and remove the section that has the MAF in it. He then suggested spraying carb cleaner on the sensor, letting it dry, and putting it back.

Any ideas on exactly how to clean the MAF? The asistance is appreciated.
