Fuel Pump compatability question 700 1992

I had to replace the pump in a our 90 740 about 2 or 3 years ago. I did it the same way - picked up a pump at Advance Auto for about $55 that was a spittin' image of the OEM. I did have to solder the wires, but not rocket science. Make sure you have the pump locked into the little holder gizmo properly or else the fuel pressure can push the pump downward creating a leak at the top connection - results in no fuel pressure to engine. I had to remove mine a second time because of that little boo-boo.

Did you also get a new filter sock for it?
