Can you callibrate the Fuel guage? 140-160 1970

About the only problem Ive had since transplanting the fuel tank from my 69 142 parts car onto my 1970 145 runner is that the fuel gauge is a bit lazy.
It will only read 1/2 full on a full tank of gas. So I have to guesse when to fill up based on the trip meter. This is a little disconcerting, since Im constanly messing with the engine and never quite to sure what my milage will be for the week.

Are there any adjustments to make the gauge reflect reality? or where the senders and the guages matched at the factory, and should have never parted ways?

Thanks,
Dave
