Insturment gauges (MPG) and related (kind of)... 700 1988

So I am fixing up my *new* $400 745 and it's almost in perfect working order. Hooray!

I was at the P & P yesterday and got some goodies (armrest with cupholders!!) off an old turbo, taking its insturment cluster to hrvest the clock from. While I was at the task at hand, I switched the volt gauge over to my insturment cluster as well.

Question: can I *modify* the turbo gauge to be some sort of MPG gauge? It's just a vacuum line into the back of it registering vacuum level, right? So can I just plug in the turo gauge (I would cover the Turbo graphic and replace it with a little MPG text) and run a vacuum line into the engine compartment and splice it into a line out there? Any lines better than others? Or is all that just silly? (I like gauges and I know I'm not alone.)

Another question: my car has ABS. The little light on the dash comes on when I start up the car that says "Anti Lock" or whatever. When my ABS does kick in, the light doesn't come on. I'm assuming it should, yes? Some sort of sensot thing somewhere? I'm gonna be doing a complete front brake job next week when the parts show up, will the new calipers have a sensor in them or something? Anything I should look for?

Any help here is of course appreciated!

This is my first 700 after driving a 245 for the last four years and so far, I'm very happy about the switch.
