My son’s 1969 122S has a dual master cylinder setup with booster, which I believe is the same as or close to the 140 of the same era. (I tried to post a couple of pics to the gallery but I get a consistent error message.) This is a better setup IMO than the Girling booster design on the earlier 122. If you research the postings on this forum on this topic you will find folks who think the earlier setup is OK and others who say it’s garbage. Be that as it may, if you check out 140s of the late ‘60s, early 70s, you may find something suitable If so, and if you’re comfortable doing the adaptation work, then I would suggest you consider this alternative.
Re the necessary mods, the mount of the booster extension to the firewall has 3 holes, not 2 as with the regular 122 m/c. Unfortunately the spacing between the 2 vertical holes is greater than on the regular master cylinder by about 9/32”. So you would need remove one or both of the captured nuts and elongate one or both of the holes. You would also have to drill the 3rd hole. You may have to fab a new actuator rod but the 140 rod should work. Plus you’ll need a later model stoplight switch which is mechanically operated by the brake pedal, since you will no longer have the hydraulic switch. And it is likely you will have to make or modify the bracket between the booster and the fender well.
If you are interested in going this route, I could email you the pics directly. Plus I could take some additional shots of the brake pedal mounting arrangement c/w stoplight switch.
