The sensor is located immediately under the Thermostat housing. The Thermostat housing it attached to the top radiator hose where it goes into the engine.

The wire coming from it is about 5 inches long max. and then it connects to a longer wire. Where the two wires connect is where I gently pulled them apart and lubricated them. WD40 is good for that sort of thing.
