Accessory Mount Bushing Layout 200

Just ran thru this whole 10-piece drama myself ---

Accessory Mount Bushings = AMB
Need
Ratchet with 3" ext. and 12 & 13mm sockets (using all deep well is possible)
Open end wrenches 12 & 13mm
Have 10mm and 14mm handy - they will be used for the adjusters and the HIDDEN bolts for the PS-A/C block bracket.

All AMB's {total of 7, 3-PS, 4-A/C} on the aluminum bracket, bolted straight to the block, are ALL inserted where the large diamter bushing surface is facing AWAY from said bracket ears/holes. Said Ears are cut to a taper of about 2-3 mm difference on either end.

The PS pump bracket fingers are attached FORE the ears with one long bolt and a tube spacer (the only long bolt in any if them), insert bolt from rear. The adjusting bracket for the PS pump has a curl, that curl faces FORE.

The A/C is fitted with a three hole cresent shaped bracket that sets the right attitude for the compressor, they are attached to the compressor to the aft of its own ears (believe me, i've tried ALL three methods) the cresents are attached to the AFT of the aluminum bracket. The adjuster bracket also has a curl and that points to the AFT.

When you're underneath the car this will look strange, especially to the lower rear AMB on the A/C - it will appear as it can just slide out on its own... (explained later)

The Alt requires 3 AMB's and two fit on an aluminum bracket bolted to the block - they are inserted IDENTICALLY FORE ( both large diameters are facing to the front of the car). The Alt sits on the like faces to the FORE of the bracket ears. The adjuster AMB is very simple and bolts directley into the block.

When applying the belts please note that the twin drive belts are placed first, then the A/C (inner groove) to PS belt (which WILL appear to not be aligned), THEN connect these with a belt from the outer crank pulley to the outer A/C groove. This can be very diificult cuz the tension needs to be applied to the first two setups and the third will pull the A/C pulley in line with the crank

TIM

P.S. ANY - i mean ANY! misalignment that is more than 5mm will side wear a belt AND cause the AMB to regress...
