Keep or not to keep? 200 1990

DJP,

Common sense would dictate that you ditch the car, since it has very high mileage on it and something catastrophic could very well happen to you the next day. That having been said, if I were you I would keep the car if it's in reasonable running condition and/or you have the necessary funds to keep it going. If the underneath of your 240 is not completely rotted out (as it would be at this point if it lived in New England), just keep on enjoying it!

One more point- how did you manage to rack up 490K miles on that 240 in 17 years? I myself am the owner of a '96 850, but it has a mere 77K on it, so I have a looong way to go before I catch up to you. The 850 is a car that is not driven in snow or salt (and sees the occasional rainstorm).
