I always thought my 68 was underpowered---it would barely exceed 70 MPH on level ground. I think that's a characteristic of the 140 with a B18---it's just too much car for the motor. That's why the B20 was introduced the following year. Since yours is automatic I would expect it to be even worse.

Have you adjusted the valves, and checked for recession, or a worn cam?
