yes, a leaking clutch master cylinder mate, the oil is leaking back to the reservoir past the seal so the column of oil between the piston and the clutch lever is shorter. If you let your foot off in neutral again and wait a few moments , you should get another shot at it but replacing the cylinder or the seals is what you need.
It could also be the slave cylinder but in that case, it would be wet with fluid.
