Craig,

Yep, if it seems to work on 8, double the figure and that would give you your 4cyl dwell angle. you're gunning for 59-65deg 4cyl / 29.5-32.5deg 8cyl. I wouldn't expect exactness, but it might get you close enough.

Small point gap = larger dwell
Wide point gap = smaller dwell angle.
