The DGV can be fun but due to the intake manifold design is less than optimal. Again, refer to Vclassics.

That being said I've had fun with mine in a B20B in the past. On long trips I can get upwards of 27mpg, I can pass uphill on the freeway with the best of them, as well as be a menace at stoplights. Start opening that secondary often enough and the mileage goes down, down, down. For some disturbing reason mine won't cut flow to the secondary after pushing it, or that seems to be the case anyway if I floor it once and drive normal afterwards the mileage is miserable. Another downside of a worn DGV is crap rattles loose and can cause all kinds of problems.

The final word though is that manifold. I can never get more than 2 plugs to look really good, so it's gotta go. No great loss as I'm stuck with nearly identical Weber DDE A1s as OEM on my Citroens, on an even worse manifold.

Not to start a debate but look in to some side-drafts of any sort. SU HS6 would be the most sensible in your case as they're widely adaptable to B18 & B20 in virtually any application, and come on a nice manifold.

Cheers, -Sean
