82 245 Question 200

I would assume that this applies for more than just my style of car but when it is super cold like in the single digits the car makes some bad noises. The car is like clock work it cranks slow when its really cold (fine when its warm) and fires then dies I sit for a second crank again and it fires right up but rattles and clanks like the dickens for about 15 seconds and then runs fine. My question is if anyone elses car does this during the cold winter mornings? It does just fine in the teens but once it hits singles it has trouble. Now im not a moron I know that cold affects cars in a bad way but I don't want to blow up my motor or anything like that. I have 10-30 in it right now and that seems to do fine, any feedback would be great thanks guys and gals.
