won't start

These cars are generally robust, and relatively trouble free. They have there issues, certain things will go wrong.
However, the problem you're having now could happen to any car , at any time.
Have you tried pushing on the gear shifter as you turn the key. Also, try starting in neutral instead of park.
In my car the gear shifter disengaged from tranny neutral switch. It has only happened twice,and each time involved putting to much pressure on the shifter in the wrong direction. Still, and easy fix. Removed the 2 screws from front of gear indicator box, reattach shift lever and switch. Its not a problem, now that Im aware.

Make sure to check where the ignition wire attaches to the starter.
You can also absolve the starter by jumping 12v to that connection.
Problem could also be in the electrical part of the switch. Another relatively easy fix.
