Turn single problems 200 1979

OK, I just can't help myself....

Turning single after years of a committed relationship does tend to generate various problems.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Then, about those lights that should blink before rounding a corner at an intersection....

Try your emergency flashers. They are run by the same flasher relay that runs the turn signals. If it's funky also, then that's another indicator (!pun!) that your flasher relay might be kaput. Replacing it is pretty easy, at least on the '86 + cars I've been working on. It's $10 from fcpgroton.com
http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo240relayswitch.htm
Same relay fits all models 240.

Remove plastic panel at right of driver's right foot (center console's left side panel). Plastic relay should be clipped to vertical metal frame edge that's closest to gearshift. Sometimes falls off and lands under edge of carpet. Has three contacts. Nearly all relays have at least four contacts so when you find the one with three consider your search over.

Swapping in a known good one from a friend's car is a good way to test to see if that's the problem without spending the $$. Or get one from a junker if you like - but you don't know if it's good or not!
