Beltline side trim reinstall 200

Hello,
My '93 was on the losing end of a battle with a tree in someone's front yard one rainy night last week.

I replaced the driver's side front fender, headlight and hood with parts taken from my parts car. Both cars are white and the job came out pretty good after 12 hrs of work. My question has to do with putting the rubber / stainless beltline trim strip back on the fender. Two of the plastic retainer clips were broken in the crash. I have the all black strip from the '92 donor car and would like to remove two clips from that strip, put them on the '93 strip for re-installation.

How does one get those clips out of these strips? I've tried gently prying every way possible, even under a magnifying glass but can't get them out. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark
