Brake question S90-V90

I have replaced the brakes on my 960 a # of times but not the emergency brakes.
Had a indy do this about 4 years ago and they never worked right from the get go. I know that I have to back off the adjustment inside the back of the console inside the car before I take the rotors off to get to the shoes. The question I have is there any type of adjustment wheel with the brakes that I can turn to have the brakes fairly tight before I have to go back inside the car for the final adjustment? oes anyone have a diagram of what I'll be getting into?
Thanks
Poolman
