Charging system woes 140-160

Bought my '72 144 in that condition. That's why the seller was getting rid of it! I seem to remember my "green book" saying that is an indication of bad diodes in the alternator.

It had some kind of aftermarket alternator at the time. Switched to Bosch...might have had to change to the Bosch regulator as well, just don't remember. I do know that Marchal & Bosch regulators are not interchangeable.

Since then, I have purchased a Bosch rebuild for a different 140 (few years ago) on-line from thepartsbin. Think it was about 70-80 bucks + core.
