Check engine light came on & engine stalls 200 1993

I have a similar problem that I have not tracked down yet. The check engine light on mine comes on just before the engine stalls. I believe the light comes on because of the low idle. My guess is that my idle air valve is intermittantly sticking. When you deccelerate to stop the valve closes to increase the intake vacuum. It should open to maintain idle when the car is stopped. I am guessing that mine sticks closed, causing the car to stall.

Mine also appears to be sticking closed at really cold temperatures. At minus 20 celcius I have to hold the gas pedal down to get the car started.

I can't confirm this since it does not happen all the time. The valve always passes the function test on the LH diagnostic unit. I plan to try swapping in a new or known working valve at some point to confirm this.
