Use for extra switches

The one I like the best is in my 1988 244GL. I installed a footwell light on th passenger side, controlled by a small toggle switch in one of the blank panels. Center off, up = works with the dome light, down = on all the time.

Only 1986 244GL I installed a small toggle and red LED to control power to the radar detector. Off = red showing. I also installed a footwell light like in the 1988, but put in a rocker switch, has no center off. I much prefer the center off circuitry.

None of the installations are using Volvo switches, which I would have preferred. I don't think any panel switch ever was a SPDT cdnter off type.

Is your extra switch lighted? Do you have a power antenna? It's nice to lower the antenna if using only a CD, or going through a low-hanging area.

Regards,

Bob
