Retrofitting third brake light into older 240; how does it mount? 200 1984

I bought a used OEM third center brake light for my third-brake-lightless 1984 240, but I don't know how it mounts onto the rear glass. I've never examined one in the newer 240s to see how they are mounted.

My light has the inner bulb socket assembly and housing, and the outer cover. Is there a mounting bracket that attaches to the rear glass which is then used to mount the light assembly? My Bentley manual shows how to remove the housing to change the lamp. It looks like you slide the assembly off of a mount attached to the rear glass. My light housing has what looks like clips on two corners which could be used as a locking mechanism for a bracket.

Every 240 third brake light I've seen for sale on eBay doesn't come with a mounting bracket.

One of the reasons for my question is I'm trying to build an LED grid to place inside the brake light. I like how newer vehicles with LED brake lights are quick and bright and seem to get your attention better than standard filament lamps. Hopefully the LEDs I'm using have the light output to achieve that.
