Charging system woes 140-160

Thanks again for all of the assistance thus far. I haven't had a chance to work on the car this week but am planning to get some time under the hood tomorrow afternoon. The AMP light is indeed illuminated while the car is turned off with the key out of the ignition. I have tried finding a replacement alternator from a couple local shops without success. I've also contacted a few electrical repair shops and neither said they would be able to rebuild the current alternator.
