1990 740 ABS diagnosis 700 1992

My daughters 1992 740 ABS light started flickering and then remaining on. This happens most of the time the car is started, but not everytime.

I check the surge protector fuse, OK, and the voltages on the relay pins, also OK.
The diagnostics code readout shows nothing.

I have a chiltons book for 1990-1993 and it has a section on measuring various resistences and voltages on the abs control unit. However, the procedure says, for example, to test for ground between 10, 20, 32, and 34. I'm having a hard time doing this since the pins on my ABS CU cable only go up to 28.

Any suggestions? What's going on here?
