Replacing the vent window rubber 444-544

How well does your vent window seal against the rubber seal? Mine does not seal at the back corners because the rubber seems too thick and stiff to allow the window to rotate all the way shut. I know for a fact that the seals are newish (replaced 2 years ago) and that they are installed properly (since there is pretty much only one way to install them). But I can see daylight through the rearmost corners of the vent window. :-/
