I've recently come in contact with a Volvo stereotype...that all Volvo owners are liberals. Rather harmless indeed, but still perplexing to me.

Other than the fact that Sweden is a left-leaning country, i can't make the connection. Would someone really buy a vehicle simply because it was manufactured in a country that relates to their political agenda? It has to be something more than that.

Where did this stereotype originate?

I know it's not 100% true...no stereotypes are...but most are based in a certain degree of fact.
