How do I refinish reflectors in euro headlights? 200 1993

Hi- I purchased some used Cibie ecodes (yay!) but they are not in great shape (boo!).

Specifically, the plastic "nuts" that let you aim the headlights are smashed up beyond repair, (but I'm pretty sure that I can make new ones out of nut + washer + o rings) but more importantly, the reflectors are in pretty bad shape - about 20% of the chrome mirror finish is missing.

The reflectors are metal, and a chroming place that I called claimed that the deep bucket makes chroming difficult, and they were unwilling to warranty their work.

So, do I just clean them up the best I can, and live with the loss of light due to non reflective surface? Or try to clean the bad areas, tape off the good areas, and spray paint with reflective paint?

My plan is to spray paint the reflectors in the plastic turn signal assemblies, but I don't know if the headlight are will get too hot.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
