Flaws of the Volvo 200 200

This is a list I had for strictly running issues that apply to LH2.4 to reduce the chance of a breakdown on the road. Some of them have been mentioned.
This is just what I put together for my own use and not derived from TSB's.

1.) 25 amp fuse: poor contact causes stalling and non start

inspect, clean, put in new fuse, replace fuel holder if needed, apply die-electric grease

2.) 561 and 556 ECU: fails

replace 561 with 951 and 556 with either 933 or 946

3.) engine speed sensor: wiring fails

replace yellow sticker one with white sticker one.

4.) rear cam seal: pop’s out

install IPD's cam seal plate

5.) air box pre-heat thermostat: sticks “cooking” AMM

If emmisions allow remove pre-heat hose else check thermostat operation

6.) fuel line clamp near main pump: corrodes causing fuel leak

replace clamp

7.) kickdown cable: sticks causing tramsmission to be stuck in lower gear

inspect cable and replace if needed

8.) O2 sensor fails: poor running conditions

replace if needed

9.) fuel pump relay: non run

keep a spare in the glove box
