Fuel Gauge for 122 - anyone use aftermarket? Or have a spare? 120-130

The fuel gauge on my 122 is broken - after years of sporadic failure, my attempts to coax more life out of it resulted in my killing it entirely.

I do have a perfectly good sender unit in the tank (I got it from IPD about six months ago), and because I'm tired of breaking my back and knuckles working under the dash, I'm inclined to put in an aftermarket gauge under the dash.

Can anyone comment on the compatibility between the Volvo sender unit and an aftermarket gauge? I'm assuming the ohmage (resistance) of sender units is not universal - or is it? Any particular brand of gauge you've used?

Or, if you have an extra (working!) gauge you would consider parting with, please let me know.

Thanks!
