Moving a Draw-Tite hitch from a 1980 to a 1992 200

Greetings--

Maybe it's time for my backup car to take its last ride.

It's got a Draw-Tite hitch that uses the bumper bolts (you just substitute longer bolts to grip both the hitch and the bumper mounts).

I would like to move this hitch to the 1992. Buuuut...the newer cars have the lighter-duty bumpers and they have smaller gauge bolts. The question is--will that hitch from the early model fit on the late model, AND would the flimsier bolts carry the load?

In a related story, my newer car has been hit from behind at least twice. The interior structure has slight damage at one of the bolt mounts with a welded patch over a tear in the sheet metal.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Doug Harvey
