Wiper Motors Question 200 1986

Hello All,

Owner of a remanufact wiper motor with a lifetime warranty. Bad news is that there have been four in a little over two months. Number One shorted out, two was a bent up mess that started stopping in the middle after a two days. Number three had no ground strap and did work at all. Had to put the bad number two back on to have wipers, until number 4 arrived.

Today got #4 installed and it barely moved you could hear the gears screaming. Opened it up an sprayed it with a lite grease and it came to life and seems to be working well now.

The question is how you folks feel about lubing those gears inside the motor. Anybody ever do it? Of course if this one fails #5 will be on the way.

Just wondering.

PT
