Intercooling?

This is probably going to sound rediculous, but i figured i'd ask it anyway- a good friend of mine just recently pulled the intercooler from a junked Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, and now it sits in my garage untouched until he can get his cash together to fit it to his car. My question is twofold: Could I fit it to a N/A B230f, and would it do anything other than create more stuff to break? Would it help anything at all?

In short- can you utilize an intercooler to any sort of positive effect on a naturally aspirated engine?

Just idle curiousity, any input appreciated.
